shootfire...... :)

yes i actually use this word.  i do sound funny, but hey i'm not cussing.  lol.  when you have a dirty mouth, you need to clean it up, but if orbitz (lol) won't do the trick, saying other words helps.  i use shootfire as just a general i'm not happy about something phrase.  instead of the "f" word i say fruit.  and, i got this one from a girl i worked with forever ago, mother of hot.  i say this one alot.  i really truly try not to cuss all the time, it sets a bad example, and when you are in the grocery store, and you say a cuss word loudly, for some reason or another, not very polite.  so as you can see i cuss alot, which brings me to why i am cussing this morning.  well i had planed to have a yardsale, i am still going to try; i wait for my friend who is bringing stuff down for said yardsale now.  i am having a yardsale, not only to get rid of stuff i don't need or want anymore, i want to get the lost complete series, and glee season one.  i not only want to get them, i need them.  yes i'm silly.  i waited to watch lost till i could just watch all of them, and i was waiting for the complete series, because it looked like such a good show, and everyone talked about, and said they loved it, i wanted to watch it, but i do not get the channel it was on, so, i waited, and waited and waited.  then a month or so ago hulu was running the entire series.  i bout had a fit.  so i started watching it, and watching it and watching it.  i did little else.  people started to learn i would not be bothered for very much, taking care of my son and light cleaning around the house was it.  i was hooked first thing, and was glad i had waited to watch it, because i can not stand to have to wait to find out what happens, i am the worst.  so i watched, and cried, and laughed, yelled at the computer screen, gasped, sat with mouth open ready to catch flies, and couldn't stop thinking about it.  then i had watched them all, and mostly cried, happy and sad tears.  so i have to have the complete series so i can watch them all again, and again, and again.  plus all the cool stuffs!  and glee, well i love that show almost as much as lost.  i have seen all episodes of glee though at least 2 times, some more.  and i have laughed and cried, and waited with baited breath to see what was gonna happen.  so i have to have that on dvd too.  so hence i am having a yardsale, and it better stop raining, or i may not be able to quit cussing.  and shootfire will not be one of the words i use.

well i have been writing again

i have started writing again.  the other day someone was over at the house and a story started creeping into my head as the person spoke.  why? i dunno, maybe something about the persons own story inspired me, or my brain just chose that moment to unblock.  either way i am really happy about it.  the story hasn't fully come together, but it is getting there.  and i am hopeful about it.  it is a post apocalyptic story, but i have to say those are some of my favorite.  is that wrong?  gosh i hope not.  but i think in seeing how we will perceive ourselves to act after a huge disaster that completely changes the way we live, and survive, say a lot about how we see the world as it is now. 

just glad though that my block is gone.  i had started several stories and couldn't get past a few lines, it was like a curtain had come down over that part of my brain.  it bout killed me.  so i just wanted to share my little joy in the day.

the gates

it seems that i can not get away from shows about the supernatural, and really why would i?  well i have been watching a new show called the gates.  i must say that i am really liking the show.i have to warn there are spoilers ahead!

the gates is a huge gated comunity, that is very exlusive, very secretive, and it's own little town, called what else, the gates.

alright, so the gates needs a new police cheif and they have hired one from out of town.  and outsider! well he begins to find out that the gates is not what he thought.  his wife is best friends with a vampire, his son is in love with a succubus, who had just broken up with a boy who happens to be a werewolf, and the list goes on.  and they all have everyday problems, it is a pretty cool show.  i haven't decided who my favorite character is yet, but i am really liking claire and dylan, the vampire couple who have adopted a little girl and are raising her inside the gates.  oh and did i mention that claire is the same actress who played soyna in underworld rise of the lycans.  they have this special lotion that lets them walk in sunlight.  oh and thier daughter has no idea they are vamps. pretty sneaky!!  the werewolves are a bit less interesting, a bit like you would expect, there is a pack, but the one football player werewolf's mom who is also one, doesn't want him running with the pack cause her husband and son, his dad and brother, were killed by hunters.  and the vamps and wolves don't like each other.  there are also wiches, one is the ex-wife of the founder of the gates, and she is evil, at least i am pretty sure she is.  and she has the chiefs wife all hopped up on mind control tea.  crazy!! so the police chief is getting his footing, trying to figure things out, with all this crazyness.  i know that there are other types of supernaturals around, they just haven't revealed them all yet. so i am pretty excited about finding out what is coming up.  it is on tonight, so i will be watching in tomorrow morning, yay for hulu.  there are so many things going on, it is kinda hard to keep up with it all, but it is fun trying. 

touch of destiny

well right now i am watching pirates of the caribbean dead mans chest.  i love all of the poc movies, i even have a jack sparrow tattoo, and plan to have the lower half of my left leg and part of my foot covered in poc art.  right now it is when davey jones boards the black pearl to talk with jack.  wonder why i like these movies so much, not only because they are awesome, have wonderful actors, the writing is just the best, the cgi is great, i could go on and on...i think it is because deep down, i want to be a pirate.  wouldn't it be great?  well cept for the scurvy.  that would kinda suck.  ok no more talk of scurvy, lol.  living life how you want to, free, on the open ocean, the world is laid out before you.  the wind in your hair, the sun on your face, the spray of the water, the blue of the ocean, the endless sky.  i could live on a boat, well maybe, after watching titanic, i am kinda afraid of being on a boat and drowning, cause that would suck, way more than scurvy. 

ok, as you might be able to tell captain jack is my favorite character, johnny depp is such a wonderful actor, and how he brings jack to life is magical.  and as that one guy, one of the east india guys in the third movie said, makes you wonder if he makes it up as he goes along, or if he has it all planned out...i think it is a little of both.  and he is way smarter than people give him credit for.  and sneaky.  sometimes i wish i was like jack, but alas, i don't have the attitude to pull of the outfit! 

well i am gonna end this here tonight, it is late and i am ready to relax a little and watch the movie, it is just getting to some of the really good parts.

new show that i am in love with

ok, so i have started watching haven. it is on the syfy channel, but of course i watch it on hulu.  (and why did they change it to syfy? really did they need to?)  anyways, lol, i am really loving the show.  it is based on a stephen king story, the colorado kid, and i love stephen king, so i decided to check it out.  awesome! 

i have noticed a few things during the openeing credits, that to my delight, are tied into books, one series that i can never get enough of, the dark tower series, which i recomend to everyone, i am going to start rereading them soon.  and i will not spoil anything for anyone, but check it out, pretty neat.  back to the show....

i love the cast, they are all really great, quirky, with secrets, and good looking?  combos that i personally love. the show is smart and funny, and strange, and great.  all things that i love!  ok my brain is not really running at top speed this morning, so i am just gonna say, watch the show, you will like it.

Tuesday's Top 5 reasons i like the new show happy town

so i went to hulu the other day, one of my very favorite sites on these here interwebs, cause i get to watch tv, shows i can't see on my tv, cause i won't pay for local channels on the directv, anyways, was on hulu and seen a preview for happy town, looked interesting and when i went to the page and one of the tags was twin peaks, now i loved twin peaks, so i decided to check out the show, i subscribed to it, and since i didn't have time to watch it right then, i had to watch Glee again, i decided to wait till i could watch it.  today was that day.........................


top 5 reasons i like this new show happy town

1. So reminds me of Twin Peaks - where is the log already?
2. There is this weird symbol around town, a question mark with a halo - there are people missing, and a banner is put up with their pictures and this weird symbol, that is also around town and (spoiler alert) on someone who you wouldn't think.....not so much a spoiler but a hint. 
3. Who is Chloe - don't know yet, but the sheriff mentions her alot, without anyone else knowing what he is talking about.
4. Sam Neil - he is playing a strange (maybe) british man, don't know what is up with him yet, but i'm intrigued.
5. oh someone got killed with a huge nail right through the head! - right at the beginning of the show and i think it was the serial killer/kidnapper that went underground 5 years before, i want to know!

Tuesday's Top 5 favorite books i read last year

so my top five has been mostly about movies and tv, today's will be about books. books you say? i am an avid reader, and please don't give me a good book, cause i will be usless till i have read the whole thing. books take over my life, i know i can just put it down and pick it back up where i left off, nothing will have changed (well it shouldn't, and if you don't know what i mean read number on my list), but for some reason, i can not put down the book till i have found out what happened. now if i don't have time to read i try not to even start a book, cause seriously they are like drugs to me. lol ol (monk reference!) so here we go




my top five books i have read in the past year

1. The Eyre Affair - (all the thursday next novels in general) wonderful book by jasper fforde, really great, i love thursday, she is my hero, i can't wait till the next one comes out.

2. Boneshaker - great steampunk book, i love steampunk, i love everything about neo-victorian-post apocalyptic. but if you are not steampunk crazy like i am i think you will still enjoy this book, it is set in seattle 20 years after the civil war SHOULD have ended. really enjoyable if you like altered history, or just a really good zombie book, yes zombies, i can't hardly get enough of them!

3. Go-Go Girls of the apocalypse - loved it so much, not so much the apocalypse, but a good read. the other books by this author look great too, can't wait to read them

4. Odd Hours - i love odd thomas, i have read all of his books, well they are books by dean konnz, but every one with odd is great. the skills he has with the dead are great, ones i personally would not give money or love to have.

5. Fables - they are a series of graphic novels. for anyone who ever read fairy tales as a child, or had the stories told to them. the fables, or fairy tales are refugees and are living in new york city, they have a block to themselves, and it is called fabletown, fables who can't pass as mudy's (mudane humans) or can't afford glamours have to live on the farm in upstate new york where no one can see them. i love this series and would recommend it to everyone who read them as a child.

i love will ferrell, he is a genius when it comes to the super funny.  anytime i feel horrible, well i can watch one of his movies and guess what, i laugh my ass off.  so today i am giving you a double shot of some awesome with 2 top 5's featuring the man himself!

1. Step Brothers - i love this movie soooooooooooooooooooo much.  it is one of the funniest things ever! in the whole world. there is not one part of this movie that i do not love.  my favorite of favorites?  the fight and the aftermath, no tv for a week!
2. Old School - great movie, he made the whole movie, well him and vince vaughn, luke wilson is ok, funny yes, but he's no will ferrell.
3. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - watched this last night on tv, cause my dvd of it went missing, (birthday gift idea alert!!!) so so so funny.  and i need a crystal gail t-shirt too!
4. A Night at the Roxbury - classic!  so funny.
5. Bewitched - yes bewitched, loved it, nicole kidman and will ferrell were so good together.

Tuesday's Top 5 reasons why i was like OMG!! when i watched spartacus (sand and blood) saturday night

well, as you may know from previous blog entries, spartacus is one of my fave tv shows right now, i watch it every week and can't wait till the next episode, cause really it is kinda hard to keep up with if you don't pay attention.  there are alot of diffrent plots going on, and a ton of people to keep track of, and with the roman names, whoa.  but last nights episode was CRAZY!!!  so here we go

1. Guy that gets his Head POPPED OFF! -  not kidding, spartacus and varro are chained together in the arena, and after they kill all the other guys there is a huge guy that they have to kill, and he is big and tough, but they come up with a plan, very clever i think, they wrap the chain around his neck and pull, very gross and yucky, but not expected, i was OMG about it.
2. Varro's Wife is Found - which i was glad to see, i was a upset, and did not like him, when he was mad at her for getting knocked up from being attacked by a merchent in the market.  but after spartacus talked to him about it, he knew he was wrong, and tried to contact her, to no avail, but during this episode she is found, and they make up.  it was really sweet.
3. Batiatus has a bust of Spartacus made -  not so OMG you say, but you didn't see what else was attached to it, lets just say it was his junk.  when i noticed that, all i could say was WHAT?!?! why? but i guess that is just how they are.
4. BIG OMG PART HERE..............Spartacus has to kill Varro - i was looking between fingers, i couldn't watch, but had to see what happened, crixus was suposed to fight instead of varro, but the bratty kid whos party it was had been coursed by illythia to choose varro instead, it was supoosed to be an exibition only, but after varro finds himself on the pointy end of spartacus' sword, the brat chooses for varro to die, and batiatus has to say yes because he wants to be in politics and the brats father is the way he can get there, so spartacus has to kill his best friend in the whole world, someone who is close as a brother............but varro plunged the sword into his chest himself, to save spartacus, and charged spartacus with taking care of his wife and child, soon to be two children, then spartacus has to finish putting thw swoard into varro, it was sad.
5. Batiatus is on the Warpath -  after the brats father tells Batiatus that he will never be a senetor, well he is pissed, and i am pretty sure lots of people will die.

as i have mentioned before i love the show how i met your mother.  well my favorite character on the show is barney, ted is alright, kinda gets on my nerves, but the show is kinda about him, i love lily and marshall, and robin, come on? robin sparkles? right? but barney is the awesomest ever. here are my top 5 reasons that i love him so much!

1. The Suits! - it's time to suit up! in the battle of suits vs. chicks, well suits won, and i am not suprised, look how dapper he is in a suit

3. Never* Takes a Bad Picture - as proved this last week, how could you not love that? unless your robin.

Tuesday's Top 5 tv shows i am loving right now

ok, so i love tv, i love it love it love it, i was raised on tv, it was my babysitter, and i have been hooked on it forever. i watch quite a bit of it, which i shouldn't but hey, i love it so much. anyways............. right now most of the shows i watch regularly are not on, end of season and whatnot, but these are shows that are on right now and i love them!

1. How I Met Your Mother - this will be on every list of tv shows i love cause i love it that much, thanks nancy for introducing me to my tv soulmate, lol. if i miss an episode, i will die. thank goodness cbs posts it online, cause i don't get that channel. did i mention i love barney, i will have a list dedicated just to him soon!
2. Castle - awesome show, i love nathan fillion, he is such an underrated actor, he is awesomeness squared. i love him in everything he is in, firefly anyone? the first season of this was kinda predictable, the writing wasn't the best, but i knew it had potential, and lo and behold, it delivered, season two rocks my socks right off. and it spins me right round too! lol. very clever, i love the characters, and did i mention, heat wave read it!
3. Spartacus - new on stars right now, pretty good show, but blows my mind too, people actually lived that way. i couldn't imagine it, even on the show when they have parts about well, if you watch the show you know, and i just can't fathom it, but they lived that way, besides all that, awesome show. plus hot guy alert!!!!
4. Anthony Bordain : No Reservations - OMG!!!! i love tony! i would love to hang out with him, he is so cool. i try to never miss the show, and i love reruns. snarky tony is the best, but i also like it when he is nice. plus i love all the places he goes, and if i ever have enough money to travel, i will def go to his site to see the awesome places to go.
5. Entourage - this show is running on spike tv now, i never saw it on hbo, but i love this show so sososososososo much. i love the characters, the storylines, and my fave character? turtle :) i heart turtle, lol i also love drama, you either want to smack his face or hug him, or both at the same time. i am glad spike is running it, except when they don't run it on the day they are suposed to and i miss it. not good spike, not good.

Tuesday's Top 5 Movies I won't get up to go pee while watching!

ok, so there are movies and then there are movies that no matter what, if i can't pause it, i will not get up during the movie, on long movies this sucks, but the whole thing is just so good, there isn't a moment when i can say, alright this is a little boring, i can get up now. here is a top 5 list of movies i will not get up during, unless i absolutely have to.

1. Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - At World's End-- how much do i love this movie? well i love it almost as much as i love my family!
2. Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist - i seriously can not get enough of this movie, i love it, specially the Yugo!
3. Say Anything - oh john cusack in one of his best roles, i love you lloyd dobbler!
4. Dirty Dancing - loved it since i was a little girl, no one puts baby in the corner.......or tuesday cause johnny castle will come and get her! lol
5. The Boondock Saints - i hadn't seen this movie, until recently, and omg dudes, this movie is great, i love it, i wanted to see the sequel, but i am a stickler, have to see the movies in order, and boy am i glad, i didn't even get up to get a drink, even though i was really thirsty, i was gonna ask my husband to get me one, but i didn't even notice when he got up, so i waited! lol
